Summer Intensive Registration

Registration here for our 2025 Youth and Adult Summer Steelband Intensives.

Tuition is $150 per participant. A 10% Family Discount applies to multiple members of the same household enrolling. Tuition Assistance (financial aid) is available to those needing it. Tuition payments can be made via a PayPal invoice (which you will receive in email), or by sending a check to: Steel Magic Northwest, P.O. Box 1222, Edmonds, WA, 98020. You may also bring a check to the first day of the intensive. Please select your payment option at the bottom of the registration form.

Our summer intensives are appropriate for beginners just starting, and intermediate players wanting to maintain their skills over the summer. They are also a fun social event that keeps our steelband kids connected over the summer, and introduces musically curious adults to the genre.

Youth intensives are for kids entering the 5th grade and up (ages ten and up). Older youth with existing musical aptitude may consider the intensive as their audition into our intermediate band (Steel Dragons).

Adult intensives are for all adults of any age. Those with existing musical aptitude will find the experience engaging, fun, and rewarding. Those with no prior musical experience will experience more of the challenge, but the vast majority of those beginners discover that they do, in fact, have some natural musical abilities to bring to the party, and have a great time. Many members of Mystical Steel, our adult group, came to us with zero musical experience. Eye-hand coordination and ability to memorize short passages are factors in this activity.

Intensive 1, Edmonds, July 21 – 25:

Youth only, 1:30 - 4:00 p.m. daily

Intensive 2, Kent, July 28 – August 1:

Youth 1:30 - 4:00 p.m. daily

Intensive 3, Edmonds, August 11 – 15

Youth only, 1:30 - 4:00 p.m. daily

Adults 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.
